By way of its PlayStation Blog, Sony has announced Rat Race, a new episodic game series coming to the PlayStation 3 this winter. The game is in development by Super-Ego Games, a relatively upstart studio whose former credits include The Barbie Diaries: High School Mystery for the PC.

You're a VERY BAD monkey!
You're a VERY BAD monkey!

Belying its snicker-worthy predecessor, Rat Race will focus on adult themes in an office setting. Players will "sneak, sprint, solve puzzles, eavesdrop, and steal" as they attempt to survive the day working for the dysfunctional and questionably legal BiggCo. The game promises a number of unique characters, including an "impossibly hot" PR exec, a backstabbing coworker, and a research scientist who "may or may not be intimate with his lab monkey."

According to Super-Ego, the game is "written and voiced by some really funny people with credits on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, My Name Is Earl, Saturday Night Live, South Park, Flight of the Conchords, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, and Comedy Central." Also working on the project are stand-up comedians local to the studio's New York City office.

Rat Race has not yet been rated or priced.
