Sony Celebrates 20 Years of PlayStation

Twenty years ago next month, Sony released the first PlayStation gaming device in Japan.

The company is marking the milestone with a look back at the now-iconic gaming brand with a new Japanese video released on YouTube this week that chronicles the history of PlayStation.

Since the launch of the original PlayStation console in 1994, Sony has released numerous other devices, including home consoles such as PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4, as well as portable devices including the PSP, PSP Go, and PlayStation Vita.

Sony has also launched a special Japanese website dedicated to the 20th anniversary of PlayStation.
