Sonic Superstars is heading to PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC on October 17. Sega finally confirmed the release date at Gamescom. That means the Blue Blur will launch the same week as Super Mario Bros. Wonder, setting the stage for a throwback battle between the two iconic mascots. Sonic Superstars preorders are available now, and you can get a pretty cool preorder bonus by ordering early.

Sonic Superstars might look like a remake (thanks to its gorgeous 2D graphics), but it’s actually an entirely new adventure. That means you’re getting a whole new set of maps to conquer, along with a fresh story to unravel--though it still revolves around Sonic and his gang of pals stopping the evil plans of Dr. Eggman.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose are all playable characters in Sonic Superstars. A new mechanic also allows you to harness Emerald powers to maneuver and attack in unique ways. And if you’d rather not explore solo, the game will support four-player co-op.

Excited about the upcoming 2D adventure? Here’s a look at preorder bonuses for Sonic Superstars along with all available editions of the game.

If you preorder the physical edition of Sonic Superstars ahead of its release later this year, you’ll get several pieces of exclusive content. This includes an acrylic display stand, a reversible cover for your game case, and a Lego Eggman in-game skin. It’s great to see a physical collectible offered as a bonus, and if you’re a diehard Sonic fan, the display stand alone might make this worth a preorder.

You can also sign up for notifications at SonicSuperstars.com to earn an exclusive Amy Rose skin.
