There's still a few months before Solo: A Star Wars Story arrives in theaters. However, Disney and Lucasfilm have revealed the first bits of information about the upcoming Han Solo standalone movie, and it's something fans of the Star Wars franchise are going to want to pay close attention to.

The first synopsis of the film has been released. It reads, "Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes."

Not only is that synopsis the first actual description of the movie's plot, but it reveals that Han and Chewbacca won't be thick as thieves when the film begins. Instead, the audience will get to witness the first meeting between the scoundrel and the Wookiee that goes on to become his closest friend.

The relationship between Han Solo and Chewbacca is one thing fans of Star Wars never get tired of, so it's exciting to know Solo is going back to its roots. Given that Han will also be encountering Lando Calrissian, the movie will likely also feature the smuggler's first time on the Millennium Falcon--not to mention Han and Chewie's iconic race through the Kessel spice mines, which were previously teased.

Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. They're joined by Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The film will be directed by Ron Howard, who took over for Phil Lord and Chris Miller after they were removed from production during filming. Solo flies into theaters on May 25.
