Activision's enhanced version of its first-person shooter Soldier of Fortune has gone gold and will soon arrive in stores, according to a company spokesperson. Soldier of Fortune: Platinum Edition features the same realistic, gory action that made the original game popular, along with new features such improved multiplayer support, new multiplayer levels, and an exclusive look at the upcoming sequel, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix.

Soldier of Fortune: Platinum Edition was developed by Raven Software and will be available in stores at the end of August for a suggested retail price of $29.99. For more information, read our full review of the original game.
