Smash Bros. Wii U, 3DS: new Home Run Bat looks crazy powerful
Item will be black in upcoming Wii U and 3DS game; so powerful it will make other characters' eyes bug out.
Super Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai today announced on Miiverse that the Home Run Bat will indeed return for the upcoming Wii U and 3DS game. But that's not all. The item has been overhauled since we last saw it in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
For the new Wii U and 3DS game, the Home Run Bat is black and features an ornate handle and yellow-gold highlights. As Smash Bros. fans know, the Home Run Bat is a feared item, as it almost always yields an instant KO when smashed. For the new Smash Bros. game, the Home Run Bat will even make other characters' eyes bug out when attacked.
The Home Run Bat has appeared in every Smash Bros. game to date, so it's no surprise that Sakurai and the rest of the development team are bringing it back for the new installment. The new Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS launches sometime in 2014, but we've yet to learn an official launch date.
