Sony Computer Entertainment America today announced the next chapter in the Sly Cooper franchise, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. The game is being developed by Seattle-based studio Sucker Punch and will be released for the PlayStation 2 this fall.

The newest edition of the sticky-fingered raccoon sees the hero bringing his team back together after the conclusion of the last game. Bentley the turtle, now confined to a wheelchair after a mishap at the end of Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and Murray the hippo, who chose a life of nonviolence and solitude after feeling responsible for Bentley's crippling, rejoin Sly to help him take down a new group of adversaries trying to steal Sly's family fortune.

The game will feature an all-new time-machine mode, which lets gamers play through levels again, using different moves and disguises to try to get better thieving ratings. There is also a new multiplayer mode that allows for competitive and cooperative gameplay.
