Bethesda today announced North American release dates for the long-absent Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim downloadable content for PlayStation 3. The Dragonborn, Dawnguard, and Hearthfire expansions, and the 1.8 title update, have all cleared certification with Sony and will begin to roll out in two weeks.

Dragonborn will launch first on Tuesday, February 12; Hearthfire drops a week later on February 19, with Dawnguard rounding out the group when it arrives February 26. All expansions will be marked down 50 percent during their first week.

Bethesda has yet to confirm release dates for the Skyrim DLC for PS3 gamers in Europe and other territories. This information will be shared once it becomes available.

The PC version of Skyrim will add the Dragonborn expansion February 5 through Steam. It will be available in multiple languages, including English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German.

In October, Bethesda explained that the missing Skyrim DLC for PS3 was "our problem, and it's on us to fix it." Prior to that, the company said potentially unsolvable issues could keep Dawnguard from ever releasing for PS3.

@CHROMEFLAMINNot even Sony could get it to run properly, its not all Bethesda's fault, I'm quite surprised they got it working.

@killa32130 Do you have a good understanding of how game development, specifically programming works? Just because Sony couldn't get it to run well doesn't make the blame go away. It was coded horribly inefficient for the PS3. That's why it ran bad and that's why adding DLC on top of that made it even worse. It was an extremely bad port so the code was bad to begin with.

@Sefrix

"But to have it be so bad that you wouldn't dare release the DLC is an embarrassment."

They are releasing it though. They put in the time to fix it so people could enjoy it to its best potential, how's that embarrassing?

Is delaying a game to fix issues a bad thing? No, so why would it be for Dlc?

@killa32130 Yes that is because it is more difficult to work with. But to have it be so bad that you wouldn't dare release the DLC is an embarrassment.

@Sefrix Think about it like this, even simple games like Call of Duty have more frequent fps drops/blander textures on the Ps3 then its 360/Pc counterpart. So... Skryim's issues shouldn't be surprising since its a much more complex game then Call of Duty, the Ps3 already has a track record of inferior 3rd party games. I'm not looking for a scapegoat at all, just looking at the basics.

@killa32130 That's a cop out. Large does not equal complex. You can code anything to do anything. They have games like Shadowgun running on cellphones with far less memory. Heck even the GBA games were written heavily in ARM Assembly which is pretty low level stuff. When it comes to programming you can make it work. You just have to be conscious of your hardware and program efficiently That is what they messed up on. The fact that it is now coming out proves it was always possible.

Additionally, they even took the blame. You're trying to find a scapegoat in the hardware when the company themselves already said it was their fault and their problem to fix. They can admit it, why can't you?

@Sefrix Almost all 3rd party games run worse better on the 360/pc then Ps3, Skyrim is a very large game with lots of stuff happening. Ps3 just has a bad setup for 3rd party devs to work with.

@hector530 That doesn't explain the hundred of other games just as or more technical than Skyrim that run fine on the PS3. It was bad programming.

Too late, WAY to LATE Bethesda. For all Ps3 Skyrim fans I really feel sorry for yall, not only will this DLC have frame rate issues on that console it will also look horrible graphically compared to the Xbox360 an PC systems.

@hector530 @tmthywtsn @Bordonaro \

What's not to make sense, Skyrim on ps3 looks horrible graphically compared to Xbox360's edition of the game. Do you get it now?

@Bordonaro There will be a GOTY edition eventually with all the DLC. But I doubt the stand alone DLC will be on an expansion, it's not like it used to be.

I still found Dawnguard more interesting compared to Knights of the Nine, never did like the whole walk from shrine to shrine thing in the beginning.

@AdamK47 Who knows, they worked long time on them, maybe they will run better than on PC or Xbox and will have less bugs.

Hmm...

Doesn't seem to be a need to roll them out in reverse order 1 week apart each. I'm sure people who have waiting this long will buy all of them irregardless. All the same, best wishes to PS3 owners who finally get to experience the mediocrity of Dawnguard and Hearthfire.

@JediLegacy Both DLC are not bad, they are enjoyable and interesting, not the best dlc but fair for that price.
