EA has released a patch for SimCity 4 that fixes a couple of crash errors and a few bugs relating to advisor messages, freight-train cargo, airport upgrades, and pollution values for airports and seaports. The patch also adds new functionality to the game's interface, allowing players to turn off the automatic creation of roads in zones by holding the Shift key when zoning. The other interface tweak included is the ability to change the orientation of lots by holding down the Alt key while zoning. A more minor enhancement is the addition of whales to ocean areas.
