The public can finally step into the world of Silverfall, the PC action/role-playing game from Parisian developer Monte Cristo. Atari has released a free demo for the game, which is now available for download from GameSpot.

In a different take on the tried-and-true fantasy setting, Silverfall is set in a world in which technology and nature are at odds. Through industrial revolutions, several governments have gained power and built up massive armies. In response to this imbalance of power, terrorists have embraced the "savage way," siding with those who are attuned to nature.

In the Silverfall demo, gamers will be able to go through the first few levels of the game as one of the four playable races. As characters progress to a maximum of level 15, they will choose a side--science or nature--to support.

Silverfall has not yet been rated by the ESRB and will be released on March 13. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
