Infogrames announced the release of Silver, a role-playing game for the Sega Dreamcast. In the game players assume the role of a young knight named David who must rescue his captured wife from Silver, a corrupt wizard. Silver has kidnapped all of the local women as part of a demonic pact with his god, Apocalypse. During his quest David must find and master eight mystical orbs that allow him to summon the forces of fire, ice, lightning, earth, acid, time, light, and life to help fight his battles.

Infogrames promises the game will be nonlinear and players will be able to explore realms from wind-blasted ice plains to underground rivers of blood. There are more than 50 characters in the game, some of whom can be recruited to help David fight in his quest.

David Riley, director of marketing for Infogrames' San Jose label, said that, in creating this game, the developers at Spiral House "have offered gamers a stunning adventure filled with beautifully rendered interactive worlds and fascinating foes and allies. The game's intuitive interface and design is a perfect fit for the advanced technology of the Dreamcast system."

Silver will retail for US$39.99.
