Nival Interactive has today announced, via its official Web site, that it's working on an expansion pack for Silent Storm that's set in the first few years after the war. Currently known by the working title of Silent Storm: Sentinels, the expansion will add a number of new features to the original game, such as new weapons, a weapon reliability factor that'll occasionally see weapons breaking down or jamming, improved enemy AI, new mercenary sentinel characters, and new mission objectives, including tasks that involve infiltration, demolition, and murder. New locales confirmed for the expansion include deserts, desolated mines, and industrial vaults.

Although it's already available in Europe, the release of Silent Storm in North America has recently been pushed back to January 2004. For more information on Silent Storm, check out our previous coverage of the game.
