Shrapnel announces delays

Combat Command 2: Desert Rats and Remote Assault releases get pushed back.

Comments

Two of Shrapnel's upcoming games, Combat Command 2: Desert Rats and Remote Assault, will both miss their originally scheduled release dates, but both games should still make it out before the end of July. Shrapnel Games has stated that the changeover to a new CD duplication provider is the source of the delays, and there shouldn't be any additional delays in the future.

In Combat Command 2: Desert Rats, players can choose to play as either Patton or Rommel as they battle across northern Africa. The game includes 17 scenarios with maps that are up to 100 hexagons in size. Desert Rats will be available July 25. Remote Assault is a full 3D real-time strategy game that features actual line of sight, a branching campaign, and a partial damage model that lets players destroy specific parts of an opposing unit. Remote Assault is scheduled for a July 27 release.
