Shippin' Out May 9-15: Skate 3, Lost Planet 2

only care about RDR and UFC

I got skate 3 yesterday. Came in a few days early to gamesmen wollongong. I'v only played it for about 2 hours but you can already tell walking, moving parts and building is much better then the second skate. And the graphics have improved a fair bit as well.

all i really care about is Alan Wake and Red Dead: Redemption

Curious about the 3D batman game. I wonder if its really worth getting.

since I won't be picking up Lost Planet 2, Rocket Knight looks economically worth trying, I really liked the Genesis version back in the day, I wonder if Konami was just waiting for this to be released before releasing the old version on the Wii... then again, I thought the same of Turtle In Time, I thought they'd release the SNES version on the Wii once TiT Re-Shelled was released

naw yo the only thing that looks good to buy full price is red dead redemption onw weeks time and it mine got it pre ordered at gamestop, automatically get upgraded tp the special edition free of charge gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnna be siiiiiiick, as for skate 3 love the franchise love the demo of 3 gonna get it but im in no rush now as for lost planet2 i liked the co-op demo not the multiplayer demo found it boring and as for the review ive been seeing on the game i think its gonna be a pass for me or when its like no more then 29.99 will i pick it up but other good games that im waitin for, alpha protocol, mafia 2

Correction on my last response: Skate 3 looks stellar, as the series has been outstanding since the first. @JaxxRaxor It is strange that there's no mention of 3D Dot Game Heroes. Interesting to note that many a gamer have been buying it up Amazon.com, and purchasing Super Mario Galaxy 2 simultaneously.

Bring on Red Dead Redemption, this week ain't that impressive.

Lost Planet 2 looks really good, i tried the Co-op demo and thought that it was cool too.

I might have been disappointed with the review of lost planet 2. If I still gave a flying **** about what online reviewers whine about.

I've got Alan Wake, Red Dead, and Modnation Racers already pre-ordered, so it's hard to ask for anything else. And then Galaxy 2 comes and sweeps everything off the table. One hell of a May.

Really wanted to play Lost Planet 2 but was bummed out see some reviews were so negative about the no checkpoints in the levels.

A decent week with some pretty decent titles. The big boys aren't coming until next week when we get Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. @Egotte I agree that 3D Dot Game Heroes will be the sleeper hit for this week at least. Interesting that Gamespot didn't mention it when discussing the highlights of this week, especially compared to Lost Planet 2 whom they did mention!

I'm waiting for the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2! :D

I still wanna grab Alan Wake, I also wanna get Skate 3 but I'm locked into Red Dead Redemption at the moment..... I have other reservations that I need to pay off before I think about other releases.....

I'm disappointed Lost Planet 2 didn't do better with critics, I'd still might want to play it anyways but with Alan Wake, Red Dead Redemption, Trauma Team, and Mario Galaxy 2 coming out this month, I might have to just pass for now. It only took Dark Void 3 months to be less than $20 for a new copy, maybe if I wait a bit I can expect the same from Lost Planet 2. Capcom is really beginning to sink as a major gaming company. Capcom has to really stop effing around, they can't waist any more studio time dicking around with another version of SF IV or RE5. They really need to make a multiplatform Okami sequel, and not just a DS one. Their love affair with the Wii is over, they are not longer the only 3rd party publisher that Nintendo gamers will buy games from, now they're as equally as ignored as everyone else. And if Dead Rising 2 turns out to be as critically condemned as LP2, then Capcom is probably going to have to merge with Sega or something to stay afloat.

I never thought the original Lost Planet was all that spectacular, it's just that it was a shiny (near) launch title for the 360 and it showed of visually. Looking at the reviews of LP2, it makes me wonder. Game Informer rates it 8.5. They lose credibility when they do things like that. It's awful coincidental that this title is anticipated to sell a lot of copies in Gamestop, the magazine's not-so-silent-partner. Self-serving? You betcha.

I didn't really find the first Lost Planet all that impressive.. even the only was medicro.. i played online more than anything but the online was SLOW

i dont how lost planet 2 got such a low review score, i only played the demo but i thought it was fun.

@ PATR0CLUS - i agree with you on that one, although i prefer the more down to earth physics in skate 3... just too bad we couldn't have the airport and los angeles levels with skates gameplay

Wow this is a week is must purchase for Alan Wake and next week is RDR is a must purchase for me. Overall good month for any gamer.

Wish Skate 3 was for the PC as well. Just feel like playing it everytime I see its gameplay videos !!!
