It's the calm before the Electronic Entertainment Expo storm this week at retail, as Bethesda brings its fantasy action game to retail, Activision releases the latest map pack for Black Ops for the PC, and Electronic Arts releases the latest Sims 3 add-on.

Leading the pack this week is Hunted: The Demon's Forge for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. In the game, players will take on the role of either the master swordsman Caddoc or the ranged-weapon expert E'lara as they work together to figure out what's behind a rash of disappearing townsfolk. Gameplay will focus on cover-based combat and puzzle-solving, coupled with exploration of dungeons, ruins, and urban areas.

Also out this week for the PC is the Escalation map pack add-on for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Previously released on the Xbox 360, the content includes four multiplayer maps: Hotel, set on top of a luxury hotel and casino in old Havana; Convoy, which offers up close-quarters combat when a US military convoy is ambushed; Zoo, set in a derelict Soviet-era animal park; and Stockpile, which is set in a small Russian town that contains secret facilities housing weapons of mass destruction.

The downloadable add-on also features a mode called Call of the Dead. The zombie-slaughtering co-op level will feature a storyline inspired by famed horror director George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead) and features a '70s movie aesthetic that sees four action stars fending off hordes of undead around a ghost ship. It will feature the voices and likenesses of actors Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead), Danny Trejo (Machete), and Romero (Night of the Living Dead) himself.

Gamers looking to pick up a new PlayStation 3 system this week can grab the $300 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Black Ops bundle. The pack includes a 160GB console, a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops, and a copy of the game's first add-on pack, First Strike.

Also due out this week is the Minerva's Den add-on for the PC version of BioShock 2. The add-on is set in Rapture Central Computing and will feature a raft of new features alongside the new narrative. 2K promises "new high-tech weaponry," as well as a new plasmid, the genetic modifications found in the BioShock universe. These powers can be unleashed on new, more-powerful splicers and an all-new Big Daddy.

Gamers looking to add to EA's The Sims 3 can pick up the Generations expansion pack this week for the PC. The add-on brings a range of new age-specific items and activities to the world as it follows sims from life to death.
