Shin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine to begin beta test

Atlus' first massively multiplayer online role-playing game for the PC in Japan will begin closed beta testing in October.

TOKYO--Atlus announced today that it will begin closed beta testing of Shin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine on October 1. Two thousand beta testers are being recruited for the game, but only users living in Japan with proper hardware requirements are eligible for application. Atlus will open its online application form for the beta test September 1 to 16.

Shin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine is an action-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place in an alternate 21st-century Japan. Players will choose to become soldiers working for either the "Law" or the "Chaos" sides or will choose to fight as a neutral mercenary. Scheduled for launch within the year, the game will be Atlus’ first online title for the PC.

Details on how to apply for the beta test will be revealed later on the game’s official Web site. Requirements for the beta test of Shin Megami Tensei Online: Imagine include being a resident of Japan. And you will need the following:

Windows 2000 or XP
Intel Pentium 4, 2GHz and above
512MB and above
Minimum 3GB HD space required
3D graphics card with 128MB or more VRAM
DirectX 9.0 and higher
Internet access with a constant connection
