Shikigami no Shiro II coming to the PC
The Japanese release of Alpha System's popular arcade shooter attempts to bring the arcade experience to PCs.
TOKYO--Alpha System announced that it will release Shikigami no Shiro II for the PC in Japan. The arcade shooter has already been ported to the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and DreamCast.
The PC edition of Shikigami no Shiro II will focus on providing the full arcade experience and will include the same popular background music as its original Sega Naomi arcade release. The screen in the PC edition has a vertical display option, allowing users to tilt their monitor for a near-arcade screen ratio.
Similar to the home console ports of Shikigami no Shiro II, the PC edition comes with a number of modes and bonuses that were not available in the arcades. The game will have three new modes: practice mode, which lets players practice certain stages without having to go through the whole game; story recollect mode, where players can check out the cutscenes; and gallery mode, where players can take pictures from the game and set them as their PC's desktop wallpaper. The game also includes various difficulty settings and a replay feature.
Shikigami no Shiro II for the PC will be released in Japan on September 13 for 6,800 yen ($62.88).
