ShellShock: Nam '67 set for September

Eidos to release the Vietnam action game in Europe and North America for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC.

Eidos today announced that ShellShock: Nam '67 will be released for all platforms this September. The game will ship in Europe on September 3 and in North America on September 14. It will be rated "M" for Mature and will be available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC.

Unlike other recent Vietnam War-themed shooters, ShellShock: Nam '67 will have a gritty and unglamorous take on the conflict. Against a backdrop of violence and suspense, players will embark on covert missions or join large-scale battles based on real-life events. Dutch developer Guerrilla actually finished ShellShock in June, but Eidos has decided to delay the game until fall. The company stated that it wanted to avoid releasing the game during the traditionally slow early-summer sales period.
