Shazam 2 Image Reveals Superpowered Family's New Costumes
The DC sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods releases in June 2023.
New costumes from Shazam! Fury of the Gods have been revealed. Director David F. Sandberg has tweeted an image of the new look for the heroes of the upcoming DC movie.
Fans of the first movie will remember that the film ended with Billy Batson's foster family also being given amazing Shazam powers. Now we can see what they will look like in their adult superhero guises--there's Billy's alter ego Shazam (Zachary Levi), plus Freddy Freeman (Adam Brody), Darla Dudley (Meagan Good), Eugene Choi (Ross Butler), Mary Bromfield (Grace Fulton ), and Pedro Peña (D.J. Cotrona). Intriguingly, Sandberg has confirmed that Fulton plays both the teenage Mary Bromfield and the older superhero version, having replaced Michelle Borth in the latter role. While the Shazam sequel is still a couple of years away, there's plenty of DC movies arriving before then. James Gunn's The Suicide Squad releases in August, with Matt Reeves' The Batman following in March 2022. Beyond that, Dwayne Johnson will make his DC debut in the Shazam spin-off Black Adam, which arrives in July 2022, and The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are currently scheduled for November and December 2022.
