The fourth entry in the Sharknado franchise now has a title and a premiere date. It will be called The 4th Awakens and is set to debut on Syfy on Sunday, July 31, at 8 PM, the network announced today.

The Star Wars gag title is amazing or terrible, or possibly both. A fourth movie is definitely happening, but it's also possible the subtitle is an April Fools' Day gag.

Previous sequels Sharknado 2: The Second One and Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! had silly titles as well, so it's possible The 4th Awakens is in fact the actual name. Plus, piggybacking on one of the biggest movies in film history can probably only help.

Via Deadline, The 4th Awakens is set five years after the events of 2015's Oh Hell No! Sharks have not fallen from the skies in years, but now they're back and ready to wreak more havoc.

Ian Ziering returns as main character Fin, while actress Tara Reid will be back as April Wexler to reveal her fate as part of the Game of Thrones-esque #AprilLives or #AprilDies social media campaign. David Hasselhoff, Gary Busey, and Cheryl Tiegs also star in the made-for-TV film directed by Anthony C. Ferrante, who was also behind the camera for the previous films.
