A post on the official Shadowbane message boards provided the initial confirmation that Shadowbane's game servers suffered a security attack and that Ubi Soft took the servers offline to restore the service. Ubi Soft has told us that a group of players found a way to teleport NPC characters and moved them into cities. In various community forums, players have recounted their experience of the events, in which many characters were killed.

Ubi Soft says that it is working with law enforcement to prosecute those responsible. Normal service on the Shadowbane servers was restored after roughly an hour.
