A listing on PEGI's website states the game will be available from December 2. Since classification boards generally only rate games that have been played, it is likely this remastered version does exist, but it may be that the release date isn't accurate.

Shadow Complex was originally released for the Xbox 360 in 2009. The Xbox Live Arcade title drew inspiration from side-scrolling exploration titles such as Konami's Castlevania and Nintendo's Metroid.

Like those games, players explored an intertwined game world, discovering new items and abilities that allowed them to venture deeper.

In GameSpot's Shadow Complex review, critic Lark Anderson praised "the core themes of exploration and high-intensity combat while treating you to lush graphics and multiplane complexity."

He continued: "Shadow Complex is an excellent current-generation take on a classic genre. There are enough secrets hidden in the Progressive Restoration's massive underground facility to keep you going for hours on your first play-through.

"With the four difficulty settings, competitive leaderboards, challenge rooms, clever achievements and bonus objectives, you won't want to leave it at that."
