Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, winner of the 2019 Game Awards and our own Game of the Year award, is receiving a new update. This update will bring multiple changes to the game, including a boss rush mode where you can take on previous foes called Gauntlet of Strength/Reflection of Strength. Based on information on the Sekiro website, the update is expected to release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in late October.

Reflection of Strength will streamline the process if you just want to fight a certain boss without replaying the whole game, as past foes can “be fought again and again to your heart’s content” by visiting Sculptor's Idols. The Gauntlet of Strength is a one-life boss rush challenge to test your mettle.

The chance for a rematch isn’t the only new feature this update is providing. Change Form will offer three new forms for Wolf that change his outward appearance, including “Old Ashina Shinobi” and “Tengu.” Remnants will allow you to send a recording of your actions to the worlds of other shinobi. This looks to be an update on the Souls games’ message system. You can record up to thirty seconds to share strategies and hints with fellow shinobi around the globe.

According to the site, this update will be completely free, so look forward to spending more time with Wolf, at no additional cost, this October. With Sekiro slated to release on Stadia this fall, let's hope we'll all soon be able to take on the Guardian Ape until we drop.
