Sega Teasing "Huge" Announcement At Saturday's Tokyo Festival
It's probably the racing game.
Sega has something big on the horizon. The company is teasing a live event tomorrow out of Tokyo aimed at fans of its franchises. The tease was vague, but whatever it has in store is coming straight from Sega Festival 2018.
Sega FES is taking place in Akihabra, Toyko this weekend. The company could finally unveil the Sonic Racing game it began teasing last month, but at this point, it would be hard to call that a surprise. The studio could have something else entirely in store, but we won't know until tomorrow. Sega of America sent out the tweet below, while Sega of Europe described the news as a "HUGE announcement."

The Sonic Racing teaser included a brief look at a headlight and an engine revving, with the "R" of its logo showing. The last game, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, was well-received as a potential challenger to Mario Kart in the go-cart racing space.
Alongside the Sonic Racing tease, Sega announced Sonic Mania Plus, a physical re-release of the 2D Sonic game released last year. It adds an Encore mode along with two more playable characters, Mighty and Ray. Sega is also partnering with Puma for Sonic-inspired sneakers.
