Sega appears to be teasing something. The developer and publisher has launched a new teaser site that features a countdown clock that ends in seven days, three hours, and five minutes, as of this writing.

People on Reddit believe the teaser may be related to the Bayonetta series, as the character's foot can be seen in the dimly lit background on the teaser page.

The header for the teaser site only says, "Coming Soon."

On April Fool's Day (April 1), Sega released an 8-bit version of Bayonetta for free on Steam; you can grab the game right here.

The last entry in the mainline Bayonetta series was 2014's Bayonetta 2, which was exclusive to the Wii U. Both entries in the franchise have been made by Japanese studio PlatinumGames. The studio's new RPG Scalebound was recently canceled.

Last year at E3, designer Hideki Kamiya said he has been thinking "a lot" about Bayonetta 3.

"We've talked a lot about it internally at the company and I've written some outlines for what the game would be. And I feel really confident it would be cool if we got the chance to make it," he said.
