Sega Deals With QSound
Sega signs a deal with QSound to assure that the Dreamcast will sound as good as possible.
Qsound Labs announced today that Sega Enterprises will be providing developers with its Q3D technology for use when developing Dreamcast games. Sega has used QSound technology before, most notably in a number of releases for the Sega CD and 32X, and in Sonic R, Sega Rally Championship and NiGHTS.
The main benefit to QSound is that it provides a 3D surround sound experience out of two or more speakers. When done correctly, the effect can be a submersive sound experience that enhances the feel of a game.
