On Tuesday, Sega of America announced Excite@Home as the exclusive portal partner for the Sega Dreamcast Network. According to a company release, users who access the Web through the Sega Dreamcast Network will get Excite@Home's content, personalization, communities, and communications applications. In coming months, users will start to see Excite@Home-branded interfaces that have been customized for the Dreamcast.

"Following our recent PocketNet wireless deal with AT&T, this deal again reinforces our leadership in providing a consistent user experience over multiple devices and our ability to reformat our content for different media," said Mark Stevens, executive vice president of corporate and business development for Excite@Home. "This relationship extends the Excite service to potentially millions of new users and continues our strategic commitment to deliver interactive information and entertainment services on different devices. Excite@Home is, and will continue to be, at the vanguard of a media revolution as devices like the Sega Dreamcast console and advanced digital set-top boxes transform televisions from one-way broadcast receivers to two-way network terminals. This will not only open up new markets for the Internet, but will also redefine TV programming and advertising as we know it today."
