Sega Adopts Prepaid Cards

Dreamcast users wishing to access the DC network can use a new form of web money to pay for the service.

TOKYO - Sega Enterprises is planning to adopt ASCII's Something Good prepaid cards for "web money." Users pay for accessing Dreamcast's network by typing in the number of the card. Cards are available in two types - 2,000 and 5,000 yen - and enable users to access the network and play with other players, surf web pages, etc. without the need for a separate ISP.

The cards are available at 5,000 stores all over Japan, so even kids who don't have their own credit card can get them.
