See NBA 2K16's First 1080p Screenshots

Here's how Steph Curry, James Harden, and Anthony Davis look in the upcoming game.

2K Sports on Wednesday released the first in-game screenshots for NBA 2K16--and they are stunning.

The three images, all of which are 1080p, highlight the professional basketball game's cover athletes: Steph Curry, James Harden, and Anthony Davis. The full-HD is meant to continue "the series' commitment to authenticity and realism as the reigning standard for sports video game simulations."

NBA 2K16 launches on September 29 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. Preordering the game, however, lets you play a little early.

Slowly becoming a fan of the best trolls in the NBA, the Houston Rockets. When they added Josh Smith, it became the perfect troll-team as Grantland wrote about a few months back

Harden drawing fouls constantly, Man-CHild D12 obnoxious unfunny "funny man" act and only being 75% as good as he used to be (but that being enough) , Old Man Jet running point. It was a glorious team to watch in the playoffs. I was fascinated and hoping they would actually make the finals just because the Harden/Lebron war would have been perfect for social medial trolling.

I learned never ever to believe footage or screenshots for 2k sports until the game is released. Everyyyyyyyy nba 2k game looks better but when its released its scaled down, take a look at the last game hyped up for next gen, looks nothingggggg like it. Same with wwe 2k games, the screenshots of Orton and Cena looked epic then the game released and you can notice that Orton's tats are scaled down and missing the shadings that the first images had

My man Curry looking pretty good, and I like the STEPH 4 MVP in the background. It's been two years since I bought a NBA 2K game so I feel pretty good about getting this one.

If it still plays like 2k15 with the server-tied VC points and the completely broken CPU players, especially AI teammates, at different difficulty levels then there's no point. Does anyone still remember being able to be drafted anywhere from 8th pick to 2nd round a few years ago, having multiple career saves, playing a MyCareer with an existing player and all the properly awesome Jordan modes?
