This concept art is "super early."

As part of its ongoing reveals, Undead Labs has published the latest piece of concept art for the upcoming zombie game, State of Decay 2.

Posted on the game's website, this new art, which is "super early" and not representative of the game, is pretty creepy. It shows zombies tied to stakes, left to suffer. Snow and shorter trees are seen in the image as well, meant to show that this scene takes place at higher elevation.

"This was an early idea where we explored using color to try to evoke the feeling of a higher elevation," Undead Labs said. "We were also debating the idea that some humans might utilize zombies in less-than-savory ways."

New concept art for State of Decay 2 has been released on a weekly basis for a while now. You can see the concept art that Undead Labs released in the six previous weeks here, here, here, here, here, and here. Next week's concept art will be the last of the weekly reveals.

State of Decay 2 was announced back at E3 2016 for Xbox One and PC. It's a four-player co-op game, rather than the MMO Undead had discussed previously.

All we've heard about State of Decay 2 so far is that its world will be "substantially larger" than the first game's and that it will allow co-op players to split up.

Earlier this year, Undead Labs confirmed that State of Decay 2 will show up during Microsoft's E3 2017 briefing in June.
