The upcoming open-world pirate adventure Sea of Thieves is the latest video game to be adapted into a comic book. Along with its newly announced Bloodborne, Tekken, and Wolfenstein graphic novels, publisher Titan Comics has revealed it is bringing Microsoft's swashbuckling new series to bookstores around the same time the game arrives on Xbox One and PC next year.
The first issue of Sea of Thieves debuts in March 2018, and unlike many of the other game-based comics Titan is publishing, it's suitable for all ages. Like the Xbox One and PC game, which allows players to form pirate crews and sail the seas, the comic series follows the story of rival pirate gangs competing to find treasure. Here's how Titan describes the upcoming series:
"In Titan Comics' brand-new series, follow two competing crews of pirates, bound by a shared past and a single destiny, as they sail the Sea of Thieves in a race to track down an ancient treasure. Along the way they'll deal with undead hordes, devious traps and their own bitter rivalries, but which crew will emerge victorious and ultimately claim the legendary loot?"
Titan has also provided a look at Sea of Thieves' covers, as well a sample of some artwork. You can take a look at that below.

Sea of Thieves is being written by Jeremy Whitley (whose previous credits include Princeless, Thor Vs. Hulk) and features art by Rhoald Marcellius (The Incredible Hulks, Warren Ellis’ Supergod). You can pre-order the first issue from your local comic shop or digitally on Comixology.
The Sea of Thieves game, meanwhile, releases for Xbox One and PC on March 20. Developer Rare recently revealed more details about how the game's progression system works. A beautiful Sea of Thieves art book from Dark Horse is also slated to release in early 2018.
