It's been a decade since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game was released, and for the last six years the well-received beat 'em up has been missing after it was delisted from the Xbox 360 and PS3 digital stores at the end of 2014. A campaign to bring the game back began gathering momentum in May this year, as Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley, film director Edgar Wright, and the game's soundtrack composer Anamanaguchi all tweeted support for the fan effort.

Ahead of a new Ubisoft Forward today, Wright tweeted that an announcement from O'Malley may be revealed soon, although he didn't mention if this was related to the game:

The last few weeks have reignited some hope that the Scott Pilgrim video game will be brought to current consoles. Wright tweeted in August that he was working on bringing the game back, O'Malley revealed that he had been in contact with Ubisoft recently, and Anamanaguchi posted a now-deleted tweet that contained a cropped image of the game's box art.

Ubisoft has a busy release schedule as the year begins to wind up. In addition to Watch Dogs Legion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will also be released as a launch game for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, now that its release has been moved up by a week to match the launch date for Microsoft's next-gen consoles.
