Scalebound Will Feature Co-op Play And Giant Bosses

Friends versus crustacean.

Platinum Games' Hideki Kamiya was at Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference to show off more gameplay of their upcoming Xbox One/Windows 10 exclusive, Scalebound. This latest demo not only featured the studio's largest boss, but also the game's co-op gameplay. Not only is it 4-player co-op, but since each player has their own dragon. You'll need all the help you can get because this boss is a giant crustacean that's a cross between a crab and a scorpion.

The close quarters combat is reminiscent of Kamiya's penchant for stylish hack-and-slashing, curiously underscored by the protagonist's need to wear headphones. In dealing with the boss, the direct combat intermingled with moments of ranged attacks by riding the dragon. It should also be noted that the dragons unleash their own attacks without the aid of your character. The battle itself featured a classic boss assault loop of exposing weak spots then concentrating on those openings.
