It's not often that you see John Woo's Stranglehold on sale for the price of a cup of coffee.

GOG has a new sale live, and for fans of retro games, there are some real treasures to add to your digital library here. A lot of these games are only available on GOG, and like its other titles, these are DRM-free. Some of the gems here include Strangehold for $2, a classic action game in which you take on the role of Inspector Tequila from John Woo's influential action film, Hard Boiled. Starring Chow Yun-Fat, this is a fun action game full of bullets, dramatic dives, and slow-motion shootouts. Plus, you can probably mod it to add some extra pigeons to the gung-ho experience.

In the mood for some classic Mortal Kombat? You can pick up the original trilogy of games for $1.50, while Mortal Kombat 4 and its hard pivot to 3D is available for the same price. The fourth outing isn't the best Mortal Kombat game, but it's worth it for those hilarious cutscenes alone. Sticking with fighting games, you won't want to miss out on Street Fighter Alpha 2, a killer combo of lightning-fast gameplay and amazing innovations for the series back then. Reversals and Alpha Counters added new layers of complexity to the experience, and at $2, this is a great price for one of the best Street Fighter games.

You can also pick up several Worms and Warhammer 40K games in this sale alongside other classic games, like Silent Hill 4, Legacy of Kain, Gex, and an unrated--definitely for kids!--edition of American Hero, which was designed for the Atari Jaguar CD as a "playable" movie back in the '90s. It's a cheesy action flick with a bonkers plot told through multiple paths and endings, and this remastered edition is an interesting slice of FMV history.

For more game deals, preorders for the Sea of Stars physical edition is now live, grab seven cool metroidvanias for your Steam Deck, and you can see what's available thorugh a Humble Choice subscription this month.
