Acquire has opened a site for Samurai 2 for the PlayStation 2. In addition to a promotional video, the developer's site offers a glimpse of what the staff is planning for the game. According to the developers, Samurai 2 will take place in the Edo period. The main character is a samurai without a name who will go around doing just about anything. Much like in the previous release, various events are taking place all over the maps, and it is up to the player to step in and influence their outcome. The developers hope to make the sword fighting more enjoyable by refining the tactics and adding more weapons.

The keywords for the Samurai 2 development team are "lifestyle," "AI," and "volume." Lifestyle refers to the lively town of Edo, in which players will get a taste of what it was like to live in that period. AI naturally refers to artificial intelligence, which will be used for the characters, organizations, and events in the game. Volume refers to an increase in the number of maps, characters, organizations, events, scenarios, and weapons, among other things.

Samurai 2 is scheduled for release this year in Japan.
