Saints Row 3 Switch Release Date Revealed

The Saints are on the go.

While California-based studio THQ closed its doors in 2013, the Saints Row franchise lives on. The Nintendo Switch will see one of the more popular entries in the open-world series, Saints Row: The Third, land on the platform in May.

Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package, a definitive edition of Saints Row: The Third, will launch on the Nintendo Switch on May 10. As definitive editions go, Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package will include all of the original game's content and all the DLC released throughout its lifetime. This includes all three mission packs--Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble with Clones--and 30 DLC items such as clothes, vehicles, weapons, and more.

It wouldn't be on the Nintendo Switch without features exclusive to the handheld. In addition to online cooperative play, Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package on Nintendo Switch allows local split-screen, a first for the game since its initial 2011 release. Unfortunately, two DLC packs--the Bloodsucker Pack and the Unlockable Pack--have been removed for game balance and improvement.

Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package will come with The Deluxe Pack, a GameStop pre-order exclusive that includes extra goodies. The Deluxe Pack has Saints Row-themed thumbstick grips, a double-sided poster, a purple microfiber cloth, two Saints Row sticker sheets, three double-sided lithographs, a double-sided box art inlay, and a deluxe game case sleeve. Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package retails for $39.99 USD.

In our original Saints Row: The Third review, we said the game "succeeds tremendously at delivering its unique brand of raunchy, outrageous fun."
