It's hard out there for a stuntman.

Stunt work is never easy and the people who dedicate their lives to this line of work often come away with serious injuries. For Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy, some of the out-of-this-world stunts ultimately led to stunt performer Daniel Stevens suffering some pretty intense injuries.

On the Corridor Crew, a YouTube channel that hosts a segment called Stuntmen React, they take notable stunt performers and watch them dissect and teach the viewers the ins and out of stuntwork, the latest episode featuring Daniel Stevens.

Stevens has done stuntwork for various Marvel projects like Black Panther, Avengers: Endgame, X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as Attack of the Clones as an uncredited Hayden Christensen double. He's even been part of winning the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture for Endgame at the Screen Actors Guild awards in 2020.

"I was supposed to hit face first into a pillar and spin off it," Stevens explained. "I went more headfirst into it. I heard a crack in my neck and I was on the mat seeing if I could still move my toes. Yeah, I can, but that was not good."

He went on to say that it was interesting because after they used the practical shot of him hitting the pillar, it went into a visual effects shot of Reynolds hitting the ground so it all could have been visual effects in the end.
