Sylvester Stallone has quite the pick to carry on his legacy as the iconic character John Rambo: Barbie star Ryan Gosling. The Tusla King actor believes Gosling is the right choice because of his love for First Blood, though admitted some might find him "too good-looking" for the part.

Appearing on The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon asked whether it was true that Gosling has Stallone's blessing to be the next Rambo, per Variety. The Rocky actor confirmed that's the case, saying he met Gosling at a dinner previously. "[Gosling] goes, 'I was fascinated by Rambo and I used to go to school dressed as Rambo and people would chase me away and I still didn't stop. I’d vacation as Rambo.’ He just kept saying that he had a lot of affiliation with Rambo," Stallone said. "And I thought, you know, this is interesting. If I ever pass the baton, I’ll pass it on to him because he loves the character."

However, Stallone jokingly stated someone else could nix the idea for one reason in particular. "... I don’t know if anyone would say, 'Hey, he's too good-looking to be Rambo," he said with a chuckle. The Rambo film franchise spans five movies: starting with First Blood in 1982 and ending so far with Rambo: Last Blood in 2019. There currently aren't any new projects in development.

Meanwhile, Gosling will next be seen on the silver screen in The Fall Guy, portraying a stuntman named Colt Seavers in the action-comedy flick. The actor has recently discussed almost turning down his Oscar-nominated role as Ken. Gosling has also spoken out about the snubs for Barbie director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie.
