Rockstar and 2K Games parent company Take-Two Interactive has filed a pair of new trademark applications for what appears to be a new game called "Judas." The trademark applications were filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on April 22, covering things like online games and more.

You can see the trademarks for yourself via the links below (via DualShockers):

Last week, NeoGAF users discovered that Take-Two had also applied for Judas trademarks in Europe. The trademark applications do not include any further details on what Judas might be.

In a possibly related development, it has also been discovered that "www.judasthegame.com" is registered to brand protection agency MarkMonitor, which is also the registrar for Rockstar's official website.

A Take-Two representative declined to comment when approached by GameSpot today.

It should also be noted that trademark applications do not always lead to announcements, as Activision also held trademarks for things like Call of Duty Space Warfare and Secret Warfare.

According to the Bible, Judas Iscariot was one of Jesus Christ's twelve disciples. He is perhaps best known for his betrayal of Jesus, and today, Judas is often used to describe a traitorous person.

Take-Two has teased in the past that, in addition to new entries in existing franchises, it is working on multiple new, unannounced franchises for new-generation consoles, according to Gameranx. More recently, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the company is coming to E3 2016 "in a big way," though he did not share any further specifics.
