Rock Band, Assassin's Creed, LBP PSP-bound

Sony announced as part of its Destination PlayStation retailer conference today a slew of new games for its oft-said-to-be thinly supported PSP. Games slated to arrive for the portable this year include the long-rumored Little Big Planet, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, and Rock Band Unplugged, as well as an exclusive installment in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise.

Previously the subject of unauthorized Internet humor, Rock Band Unplugged will be making its way exclusively to the PSP this year. Details remain sparse on the MTV Games-published, Harmonix-developed rhythm game, but Sony did confirm that it will support downloadable content through an in-game store, what the company called a first for the PSP in North America and Europe.

Sony's third-party support for the PSP will continue with an exclusive installment in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise. Though no details were revealed, Assassin's Creed PSP will be included as part of a hardware bundle that will arrive later this year. Also included will be a Piano Black PSP and other unannounced content.

Targeting the 'tween demographic, Sony will also launch a Hannah Montana PSP bundle in July that will debut the Lilac-colored PSP hardware. In addition to the female-friendly-hued hardware, the bundle will include Disney Interactive's Hannah Montana PSP game, which Sony billed as "a dancing and rhythm action game," a UMD disc containing a variety of episodes from the Hannah Montana TV show, a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, and stickers.

Both the Assassin's Creed and Hannah Montana PSP bundles will retail for $199.99.
