GameSpot sister site Screen Junkies's Honest Trailer videos have been an internet staple for over a decade, with hundreds of millions of views. On top of that, the reaction videos to various Honest Trailers have become a subgenre of their own. The latest to do a reaction is none other than Invincible co-creator Robert Kirkman as he reacts to the Honest Trailer of the first season of Prime Video's adaptation of his comic, Invincible.

The original Honest Trailer for Invincible dropped over two years ago when Season 1 was just premiering, but now Kirkman has taken a look at it and explained a few things behind the scenes and if he agrees that Jeff Bezos is similar to Lex Luthor. You can check out the full video below.

"We're doing this a little bit after this Honest Trailer came out because there was a massive gap between Invincible [Season 1 and 2]--so let's go on and address that," Kirkman commented after a Cats segue and noted the years have dated the reference by now. "I think, Honest Trailer, you guys at Fandom are better than that. We're looking at a Cats joke two years too late."

The bit that followed compared Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos to the likes of Lex Luthor, while mentioning The Boys and Man of Steel. Kirkman quickly noted he didn't agree with that particular joke, calling Bezos a great man.

Another explanation was Mark Grayson's Canada shirt as the Honest Trailer narrator joked that Mark is part alien and "possibly part Canadian?"

"A lot of people ask about the Canada shirt. I don't think I've ever talked about it publicly," Kirkman said. "We went to Toronto on a vacation and my son, who was younger at the time, I'm going to say 13, I don't remember. He went to a gift shop and they had that red shirt that just said 'Canada' across the front of it. He thought it was hilarious that there was a shirt that just said 'Canada' and had nothing else on it. So for a two-and-a-half-year period, my son wore nothing but Canada shirts. So Cory Walker, who is Uncle Cory to my kids...when he designed young Mark he put my son's Canada shirt on Mark."

Kirkman co-created the Image comic book series back in 2003 with artist Cory Walker, whose short run was then preceded by artist Ryan Ottley and ran for 144 issues. Amazon renewed the series for a second and third season with Season 2 set to premiere on November 3, 2023.

Back in July, Amazon released a prequel special titled Invincible: Atom Eve which focused on Eve's early days before joining The Teen Team.
