Now Playing: GS News Update: Robert Downey Jr. Says He'd Do One More Iron Man Movie

In a 2014 interview with Variety, Downey Jr. said there were no plans for a fourth Iron Man film, a line he repeated in other public interviews, according to Slashfilm.

A fourth standalone Iron Man movie has not been officially announced, though given the huge box office performance of the first three films and Iron Man's enduring appeal, there is clearly a business opportunity.

Though you might have to wait a while to see Iron Man again in his own film, we'll be seeing a lot of Tony Stark in the coming years. Downey Jr. will play the part in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movies and Homecoming.

Also in the video feature, Captain America actor Chris Evans praised Downey Jr. for how he can alter a scene on the fly.

"Downey is a real master," Evans said. "It may not necessarily be classified as improvisation, but he certainly rewrites on the fly. After one take, 'Scribble scribble scribble, try this.' His re-writes are not self-serving; they're scene-serving. He really knows how to make things better. That's why the Iron Man movies are so good."

The last Iron Man movie was 2013's Iron Man 3, which made $1.2 billion globally at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo. In related news, Iron Man director Jon Favreau recently told Comic Book Movie that he can't imagine the Iron Man series moving forward with anyone other than Downey Jr. in the lead role.
