Riot Announces Spirit Blossom-Themed Manga Contest

As Riot's Spirit Blossom event continues across League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra, the studio is giving artists the chance to win some exclusive Spirit Blossom-themed loot.

Announced on the League of Legends website, the new competition challenges artists to draw a one-page manga based around the Kin of the Stained Blade anime-style cinematic.

To enter, artists just need to post their submissions to Twitter, making sure to tag @UK_LoL and use the hashtag #SpiritBlossomManga. Despite the use of the UK Twitter handle, the competition is open to artists from around the world.

The prize pool includes both physical and in-game items, including an exclusive merch set with a Spirit Blossom Haori, ramen bowl and pin pack.

Aspiring video game artists may be more interested in the top prize, however, which involves a one on one video call with Riot's lead concept artist Gem Lim. A Riot artist since 2012, Lim led the art design for the Spirit Blossom event's unique, narrative-heavy Spirit Bonds feature.

The deadline for the competition is August 17, with winners to be announced on August 24, the last day of the month-long Spirit Blossom event.
