It'll only be available in Japan for now, but the mat's orange design and $60 price tag will be plenty of motivation to keep working out in Ring Fit Adventure.

Nintendo saw a big demand for its exercise adventure game Ring Fit Adventure in 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced many a gym to shut its doors last year. The only thing missing from the package was a branded exercise mat, which peripheral manufacturer Hori plans to rectify.

As spotted by Famitsu, the exercise mat will only be available in Japan from July for ¥6,470 which works out to just under $60. The mat comes with the official Ring Fit Adventure logo and a bleeding-edge orange color scheme to distinguish it from the dull black foam mat that has been gathering dust in your cupboard ever since you promised to get into shape. Color psychology has long since claimed that orange hues can promote feelings of warmth and excitement, so at the very least the mat should be able to motivate you to start working out.

The mat is 610mm x 1800mm, and 4mm thick, which Hori says makes it ideal for Ring Fit Adventure's various activities. It's also perfectly sized to collapse on when you witness the sight of a gigantic ripped dragon in one of the game's several boss fights. There's no mention yet if this exercise mat will be available outside of Japan, but positive sales could see a worldwide release.

If you are looking to get physical and you don't feel like joining a gym, Ring Fit Adventure is a great alternative so you can stay healthy. It won't give you the body of a WWE superstar, but as a healthy method for introducing an active lifestyle to your daily regimen, its collection of cardio, strength, and rhythm-influenced training is terrific for working up a decent sweat.

Ring Fit Adventure sold a staggering 8.68 million copies by the end of 2020 and was one of the hottest items of the year, with stock quickly selling out whenever it was made available.
