The first trailer for The Last Duel has been released. The latest movie from director Ridley Scott stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, and Jodie Comer, and it releases on October 15.

The Last Duel tells the true story of Jean de Carrouges (Damon) and Jacques Le Gris (Driver), two knights and former friends in 14th century France who were ordered by the French parliament to fight to the death after Carrouges accuses Le Gris of raping his wife Marguerite (Comer).

The trailer suggests Scott is back in the realms of epic historical action and gripping intrigue, following movies such as Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, and as expected, it looks visually stunning. Check the trailer out below and see the stylish poster at the end of this story.

The Last Duel is written by Damon, Ben Affleck, and Nicole Holofcener (Can You Ever Forgive Me). The movie is Damon and Affleck's first writing collaboration since their breakthrough movie Good Will Hunting back in 1995, and it's Scott's first film since All the Money in the World and Alien: Covenant, both of which were released in 2017. This is one of two new Scott movies that will be with us this year--the biographical drama House of Gucci, starring Driver and Lady Gaga, arrives in November.
