Rick & Morty hit San Diego.

It's been a very long wait for more Rick & Morty; we're still months away from the debut of Season 4 despite Season 3 having premiered back in October 2017. But with the series finally set to return this November, the show will be having its very own San Diego Comic-Con panel this week where we expect to learn more about what to expect. Just ahead of that, Adult Swim has released the first two images from Season 4, previewing some of the madness that is to come. [Update: The panel has arrived and brought with it the first Rick and Morty Season 4 footage. It unveils the new character played by Thor Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.]

The images give us an idea of what Rick & Morty Season 4 has in store. In the first, Rick is wandering through what seems to be a field on an alien planet, looking very content with his surroundings. The second image shows Rick less happy, having been confronted by a gang of giant cyborg crocodiles. Check them out below--but be aware these could always be from scenes that only make it into the season's intro title sequence, rather than any episodes themselves.

The Rick & Morty Comic-Con panel takes place on Friday, July 19 at 1 PM PT, at the Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront. For more information about all the panels and events taking place at SDCC, check out GameSpot's guide to schedules, panels, and news.

Before the panel, co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon chatted about the show and their intention to avoid having such a long wait between seasons again. They also stated that Season 4 will be 10 episodes long.

Although a specific premiere date for Rick & Morty Season 4 has not been announced yet, eager fans can check out one of the new episodes ahead of its TV screening at the Adult Swim Festival. It takes place in Los Angeles and runs from Friday, November 15 to Saturday, November 16, and is described by Adult Swim as a "one-of-a-kind, 360° fan experience."

In May 2018, it was revealed that Adult Swim renewed the show for no fewer than 70 more episodes. Previous seasons have run for just 10 episodes, but while we obviously won't get all of the new episodes in Season 4, the show's creators have confirmed that the wait time between future seasons will be reduced.
