Rick And Morty Babies Trailer Released As April Fools Prank By Adult Swim

The network has rebranded itself as Adult Swim Junior on April 1.

Hapless time-travellers Rick & Morty have been turned into babies as part of an April Fools' Day joke from Adult Swim. The network has reworked the opening titles of the hit animated show for younger viewers.

For one day only, Adult Swim has rebranded itself as a kid-friendly version of the network titled Adult Swim Junior, and delivered the opening credits for the new show Rick & Morty Babies. And they went further than just a spoof credit sequence--they had an entire episode redubbed with kids' voices. Check out Rick & Morty Babies opening sequence below:

The redubbed episode was "Total Rickall," which is Episode 4 of Season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, the episode was screened at midnight and included such changes as Mr. Poopy Butthole becoming Mr. Poopy Butt Butt.

Rick & Morty wasn't the only show to get the Adult Swim Junior treatment. The network released a trailer that featured such wholesome entertainment as The Venture Cousins, Harvey Birdman: Junior Associate, and Superjuvie. Adult Swim has a long tradition of April Fools Day pranks, going back almost 20 years. In previous years, it has drawn random mustaches on characters, aired the notoriously bad movie The Room, inserted cats throughout its shows, and in 2016, followed days of April Fools Days hype with no pranks at all.

As for the real Rick & Morty, Adult Swim confirmed this week that Season 5 will premiere on June 20. It also released a new Season 5 trailer.
