Now Playing: Epic Releases 2019 Roadmap for Epic Games Store - GS News Update

Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment co-founder Jason West has returned to games and is now working at Epic Games. According to Geoff Keighley, who dropped the scoop on Twitter, West was hired "to work on [Epic Games'] game development efforts" and has been at the North Carolina-based company's offices "for about a month."

Multiple reports claimed West retired in 2013, having left Respawn. Long-time friend and fellow Infinity Ward and Respawn co-founder, Vince Zampella, corroborated the reports. "Jason has left Respawn to take care of some family issues."

Both West and Zampella were relieved from Infinity Ward in March 2010. It was later revealed the two were fired for "insubordination." West and Zampella filed a lawsuit against Infinity Ward shortly after the firings. Parent publisher, Activision, served the duo a lawsuit for "secretly planning to start their new studio with the help of Electronic Arts." Both parties settled their suit in May 2012 for the $42 million.
