Though development of the game is finished, Insomniac has more work to do. The studio said it is planning a day-one patch for Resistance 3 that will bring unnamed "updates and tweaks" to the game.

Additionally, gamers won't need to wait that long to play the game, as the beta for Resistance 3 starts today on the PlayStation Network for owners of SOCOM 4.

The pool of beta players will be opened wider later in the month, as European PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given access starting August 10, and US Plus members will be able to join in starting August 23.

Lastly, Insomniac is packing the Resistance 3 disc with additional Sony content. These wares include playable demos for Killzone 3, Infamous 2, and Motorstorm Apocalypse, as well as trailers and developer videos for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Starhawk, God of War: Origins Collection, and SOCOM 4. Finally, the Resistance 3 disc will host movie trailers and music from Sony artists like the Foo Fighters, AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, and Incubus.
