Resident Evil 7 revealed?

Former employee of motion capture studio says she did work on unannounced game from November 2012 through January 2013.

Resident Evil 7 is in development, according to a former employee of motion capture studio House of Moves. On her LinkedIn profile (via NeoGAF), an ex-costume designer at the company claims she did work as "costume designer for the video game Resident Evil 7."

House of Moves is a Los Angeles, California motion capture studio that has done work for Halo: Reach, God of War III, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, among numerous other games.

She said her work on Resident Evil 7 took place over the space of three months between November 2012 and January 2013. Capcom has not announced Resident Evil 7 or provided any update on where the series may be headed following October 2012's Resident Evil 6.

That game was met with mixed review scores. Capcom shipped 5 million copies of the game, but said various "challenges" and "inadequate organizational collaboration" led to the title performing under expectation.

"As Capcom has made no official announcement regarding Resident Evil 7 we have no comment to make regarding this," a Capcom representative told Videogamer.

Former Capcom marketing boss Michael Pattison told MCV in August that the next entry in the Resident Evil series is likely to return to the franchise's roots.

"We have obviously seen the consumer response and the PR response," Pattison said of Resident Evil 6 at the time. "You'll find where we go next will likely be more targeted at our core fanbase."

Resident Evil 6 sucked!! the series has not been great since 4. Let's hope capcom can deliver finally on "Survival Horror" ... not action! ... I hate when companies try to copy COD style in their games.

If you want the RE series to return to it's roots, then play the Resident Evil HD remaster, cause nothing new they are making is going to be like the old games at all.

also, did you know that re6 was one of my top 5 most played games from the previous gen of consoles? it wasnt the game itself that kept me coming back for more, i just happened to meet lotsa cool peeps while playing it. its good to meet gamers that arent 75% call of duty/battlefield crazy.

dont forget the major gc installments of the franchise, the first one which they changed around so much it might as well had been a new installment that also just so happened to take place in a mansion and surrounding area. then theres resident evil zero. most people ive heard opinions from have a love/hate opinion of it but i thought it was okay. at least it had some resemblance to a survival horror game. if they decided to do a 1080p remake of zero, id snatch it up to pass some time.

hopefully theyve learned their lesson and go back to the series' horror roots. i dont even care if its not "survival horror" just something thats even remotely scary and doesnt play like a gears of war clone.

RE4 is my absolute favorite & 5 was great too. RE6 went too 'shooter' for me and so much was predictable... I just started playing The Evil Within, so far it's pretty good. Anything close to RE4 will probly make me very happy.

RE4 turned the series into an action game.......not survival horror. Bring back the tape ribbons and limited ammo.

I think they set this aside in 5 and 6.

It's very simple, Capcom. Bring back fixed camera, set in dark and enclosing locations and make ammo scarce. That's it.

i kinda enjoyed re6, emphasis on "kinda".... it was just an another average shooter. not a "terrible" game but damn.. its sad too see a franchise like RE going from legendary status to CoD clone in just 1 installement. (i actually think re5 was pretty good a cheaper version of 4 but still pretty good).

RE6 had its moments, particularly with Leon's campaign when it goes back to the franchise's roots of RE2.

That being said, it's time for a reboot. Normally, I hate the very idea of a "reboot" as a cop-out to cashing in on a franchise's name, but Resident Evil needs a clean sweep. Just look at what it did for Tomb Raider :)

I hope re7 is better than re6. I recently bought re6 on amazon for $10. Never played the game before and didn't want to because of all the bad reviews but since the game was so cheap for a brand new copy I said why not. Plus I was bored with the games I currently had.

Played all 4 campaigns and re6 was okay but overall it kinda sucked. Finicky controls and camara, confusing storyline, too many button presses. I'm glad capcom tried to change the tank controls as well as, make the game better but overall it sucked. I am going to keep my copy though.

I am an old school RE fan and loved the first three more than any of the other games. The first one that was remade for Gamecube was spectacular. Can't wait for 2015 when it will be available for 360, PS3, PS4 and xbox one. I never played RE6 just because I couldn't put money down for something that, in my opinion, was getting more and more away from survival horror and turning into a co-op shooter.

They said before they released details on RE6 that they would be going back to the roots and possibly doing a reboot and we got no such thing. I hope this time, if they actually make a RE7 that they do a reboot and return to the way the first four games were created (RE1, RE2, RE3, RE:CV)

I think for Resident Evil7they should utilize local coop to make survival horror completely different.

Each character that has a partner should be able to separate completely into different areas and not always be able to locate each other while on local coop.

so when they can find keys and other important items this would create a goal for partners to reunite in order to decipher each if not majority of the areas theyre in.

That could easily give horror experiences on two different levels whether your playing solo or right next to a friend or online.

Also there should be 4 campaigns that all have different zombies And B.O.Ws that relentlessy pursue each character. They shpuld be able to breakdown doors and sometimes you should have to hide in order to survive

I loved Resident Evil 6 the most because it opens so many doors for the franchise and really utilized awesome teamwork. :))

CAPCOM YOU ROCK!!!

Re6 and 4 had to be my faves out of the whole series ada and leon's little love story is soooo freaking cute! :3 and the wii games aren't that bad either the only issues I had with 6 were Chris's campaign which made him and piers seem clueless out of the bunch and how it takes soooo long for a multiplayer match to start. If more people were online and didn't always want to play on the Urban Chaos map that'd would be awesome, but you can't really fix what people do so maybe computer players like in gears how you can still play the match until other players join this would be great for us impatient people x)

I don't know why a lot of people complains about RE6. I played it alright and it's not bad. It's awesome. The whole new idea is actually very entertaining and I hope they keep the storyline as it is because it is linked with the previous RE like 1 2 and 3. It is survival horror! You wanna talk about action based game, it's RE5. My goodness! I played it and finished it, I was just disappointed because it's too much action. I wasn't scared playing it or didn't give me a frightening feel... it's just like Gears of war for me. The Leon campaign of RE6 is based on survival horror, the old game feel and common, appreciate the new set up already, its nearly 2014! We are not in the 90's anymore, the world is evolving and changing and so are the games. The story line of RE6 is actually commendable. I like it, it's quite intense. I am so happy that the game is linked back to it's roots and when all the good RE games started. It's like Racoon city all over again. I like playing it. It's fun and it's not boring especially if you are playing it with a friend. when you finsh one campaign with a friend, it's like I can't stop. The action parts of RE6 makes it worthwhile. I have no complaints. It's one of the best RE released. I like it as well because there are tons of campaigns and playable characters, what more could you asked for! We want more of like this. Lots of people like playing it with friends, the multi type with a survival horror feel. I want something new too and I appreciate it. I really belive that Capcom did a great job with RE6. It's way better than RE5. The storyline of 5 is a side story. I just hate it. No intensity at all, I'm not too immersed with it. Quit complaining people! and you know... the ratings of this game is so under rated and it deserves a credit.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Yet...as someone who played all RE games, RE6 is the first and ONLY game in the franchise where ammo conservation is actually an issue. It's only in RE6 where I ever find myself short on ammo if I'm too careless with them. Granted, I played in "No Hope" mode which is the hardest mode, but still, I play the highest difficulty in all my games, and among the RE games, 6 is the only one that included a mode where the game actually becomes a SURVIVAL-Horror.

In RE4, I always end up with a surplus of ammunition even in the highest difficulty. By that fact alone, RE6 is technically a better Survival Horror than RE4. The part that is up for debates is "Horror", while true 6 isn't very scary at all, that applies to all games. RE games have never been scary. I only remember being scared in the first two games because I played them when I was really young.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Know what the funny thing is? People say RE6 didn't have any survival moments, that it's nothing but Michael Bay explosions, and that you could beat the game by firing like mad. But as a person who played ALL Resident Evil games, in as hard a difficulty as those games let me set them on no less, RE6 is, as of right now, the FIRST and ONLY game in the franchise where I find myself short on ammo. RE6 is the first and only game where ammo conservation came to mind. In previous games, I always find myself holding more ammo than I could use, having a large surplus even after the final boss. Okay, so I was playing "No Hope" mode, which may explain the scarcity as enemies are tougher and ammos are set to be more rare. But hey, that just means RE6 is the first RE game to actually add in a mode that actually makes the game a "Survival Horror". Granted it's not that scary enough to be considered "Horror", but then again, neither are any of the previous games. But atleast RE6 achieved the Survival aspect of the genre better than previous games...even if you have to play it in the highest difficulty setting.

I think one aspect of what many RE fans like about the series is that the games allow us to be in an uncertainly believable situation where many thing could happen and much more to explore while learning the stories behind. Great story that is, something many unsuccessful games don't have.

@William Semple Personally preferred the CGI films. Didn't they have a newspaper at the start of the second human film where Leon was mentioned dead, only to re-write their own history and bring him into the latest one? If I'm wrong I'll take back every rant I went on about that. If not, bad movies BAD.
